Intro. to New Mexico Roots Music Lone Piñon Join Lone Piñon for a journey through New Mexico music, starting with the oldest roots and demonstrating how modes, rhythms, forms, and styles have changed and developed over time. They’ll discuss the origins and cultural context of the music as they’ve learned from elders and perform examples of the diverse musical traditions that intersect, overlap, conflict, coexist, and merge in the New Mexico musical landscape. |

Learn N. New Mexico Dance Tunes Lone Piñon Join Lone Piñon to learn a few dance tunes that have evolved with corresponding dance steps in Northern New Mexico. Karina and Jordan (violin, accordion) will work with melody players and Tanya and Santiago (guitar, bass) will work with the rhythm section players on some of the rhythmic approaches and variations. Open to all levels. |
